We have been so busy the last 2 weeks, I have not even had one moment to share this post until now. Since 9/13, ImmDef & partners have welcomed more than 8000 asylum seekers inhumanely dropped on the streets of San Diego by CBP with little more than the clothes on their backs.

One constant is the family separations. The wife crying on way to church shelter whose husband is missing. The mom begging for help to find her 18 yo son. The Chinese mom who spent 3 days standing in a parking lot watching every CBP bus empty until she found her 20 yo daughter.

Some of us have been out of school for a while and may have forgotten our American history. Protesting injustice and expressing our opinions is part of our American tradition and what makes this, in fact, a free country. That’s what the Constitution is all about.
