Coerced Hutchesons’ Grammar teaching staff had no other option than to sign inferior terms today, under duress, in order to save their livelihoods. Unions warn this will lead to strike action, which could have been avoided had the school been open to further negotiations.

Live stream of the Hutchesons' Grammar Board drafting up another response to parents and teachers assuring them that everything is fine, everything is okay, they didn't just irrevocably wreck their reputation and cause the first strike action in the school's history.

I’ll be voting for my local branch Cardiff UCU✊🌱 to go give Cardiff University 14 days notice of strike action against this punitive, goodwill-killing behaviour. This, along with student suffering, cld be avoided if our employers gave us a fair offer on pay & conditions. 1/3

Also University staff have also almost universally lost staff rooms and refectories, so there is really nowhere left that academic staff can meet out of earshot of students, over a self made (free!) cup of coffee, to discuss sensitive issues and support and mentor each other.
