Let me be clear: Dems support strong, effective border security. The type of border security that Dems have long-supported, including increased funds for tech, is what experts have said is needed & actually works. What doesn’t work is an ineffective, expensive & medieval wall.

William Barr has already expressed his bias against the Mueller investigation – that alone should disqualify him from serving as Attorney General. He also wants to gut the ACA, thinks Roe v Wade should be overturned, & has a troubling record on criminal justice. I'll vote no.

It's infuriating, but here's where we are: McConnell won't call a vote on the House-passed bills to reopen the government because he knows they will pass the Senate too. And Republicans' #1 priority isn't ending the shutdown, it's staying on Trump's good side.

President Trump turned America’s back on Dreamers. He abandoned our neighbors protected by TPS. He created a humanitarian crisis for migrant kids. And now he’s trying to use the pain he has inflicted on others as leverage to end the pain he imposed on civil servants.

12 years from now, we could be listening to a President delivering the #SOTU, telling us that the worst effects of climate change have become irreversible. Or we could be celebrating the transformational action we took to save the planet. It’s up to us.

Trump’s impeachment trial begins today and McConnell wants to rush through it—at the expense of truth and justice. We have to keep the pressure up and demand the Senate hear from first-hand witnesses, including Bolton and Mulvaney.
