Looking for a mind at work 🧠 We work hard to provide our students with the means to participate in remote learning with ease and creativity. On average, the 37 CFY sites are collectively serving 750 students on a daily basis both with virtual and in-person programming.

It is more important than ever to engage in social-emotional learning with our students. 🧠💙 In our after school programs, students participate in activities that promote mindfulness, managing emotions and reflection.

Rounding out our astonishing timeline of Black history-makers in Omaha Public Schools, we are proud to honor Dr. Cheryl Logan, the current superintendent of OPS. @OPS_LoganSupt is the first Black superintendent and the second woman superintendent of the district.

Equasha Smith Gooch is the Civic Nebraska site director at Lothrop Magnet Elementary, and folks, is she the woman for the job! She says: "I was an at-risk kid. I want to show the kids that they can break generational curses. They can be whatever they want to be!"

Time to move your body! We know that exercise is important! Students at Indian Hill Elementary's afterschool B.L.A.S.T program have free time in the gym as a way to get their daily exercise and socialize in an energetic space. 👟

Unleash your inner artist! Students with Kids Can Community Center visited Hot Shops Art Center earlier this summer to learn all about pottery and clay-making. Check out those masterpieces! 🎨

Today is the day, folks! We will be located in the Scheels parking lot in Village Pointe today until 7 p.m. collecting donations. Please bring new backpacks and school supplies to gear up our kids and send them back to school this fall feeling confident and ready to learn! 📚🎒
