Any recommendations of Youtube channels, Reddit subreddits or X lists which have on-the-ground tactical tips and how-tos to learn distribution for novices?

5. Use Parasite Marketing - Identify the businesses which are already selling to my ICP - Find their official Facebook or Linkedin groups - Share educational content that solves their micro problems - Optimize the bio or open my DMs so people can reach out to you

Man - took me a long time to pick even a domain name provider. It's not super clear on any of the big ones what are the must-haves vs nice-to-haves even though I wanted to put up a simple website. Eventually went with Namecheap.com. Anyone else had a similar experience?

#buildinpublic this classic VW ad from 1962 is a perfect fit for many of the micro SaaS we are building here! Story goes that Doyle Dane Birnbach created this to position VW as a protest against Detroit at that time. Totally using this on my next one!

A good rule of thumb from David Ogilvy to identify big ideas. Ask 5 questions: 1/ Did it make me gasp when I first saw it? 2/ Do I wish I had thought of it myself? 3/ Is it unique? 4/ Does it fit the strategy to perfection? 5/ Could it be used for 30 years? #buildinpublic

How do you write good copy ie the words describing your product - until you become good at it - you copy :). Good ones to start with - David Ogilvy, Paul Rand and Tschichold.

Another couple good rules of thumb. 1. White type on black background is harder to read 2. Use serif fonts for body copy rather than sanserifs #buildinpublic

In video ads - the ones that work best are testimonials of unsuspecting customers Compared to celebrity endorsement, slice of life. Demonstrations also quite good in their ability to persuade.

Other high effectiveness video content styles for persuasion - 1. problem solution eg a match box that works well in humid weather. 2. Emotion - content evoking nostalgia, charm or sentimentality
