Reading rec question: is there a good literature on lending by gender and race after the subprime mortgage crisis? I'm finding a lot of papers about trends pre- and during the 2007/8 crises, but not much talking about the aftermath.

it sucks that they bailed on the child tax credit, it was a really good thing, and it was also a bummer to me how little fight there was for “keeping the CTC going” on the left at the time it was being decided relative to e.g. student loan forgiveness

I was especially furious to see attacks on disbursing cash or the tax credit mechanism. Calling them “neoliberal” or insinuating that provisioning goods is an substitute to sending cash in a capitalist economy. Or that the IRS couldn’t build the capacity to disburse payments.
