subagents are just recursive agents where you can apply different prompts + models depending on the task. since they’re just a primitive, Cursor cli can actually spawn subagents by calling cursor-agent in headless mode via shell commands. that’s what makes the cli so nice.

Value is indeed shifting to the application layer. But IMO network effects are pretty weak outside of brand, chat, code cli and video generation interfaces are commodities with very low switching costs for users (if u used Claude code going to codex was easy)

You can get like 95% of the way to a really nice, slick, working iOS app written natively in Swift using codex and GPT-5. But then you reach the point where you want to put it on the AppStore, so you need to get certificates set up for signing and all this other stuff. At that
