Every 2 minutes, a woman dies during pregnancy or childbirth. Most of these deaths are preventable. Conflict exacerbates the risk. Nearly 2/3 of maternal deaths take place in fragile and war-affected settings. World Health Organization (WHO) is calling for greater efforts to protect maternal health.

#CPD59 may have ended, but our work towards rights, choices and dignity for all continues. We leave with renewed conviction that shared values can drive shared impact. Let's use the ideas and solutions discussed this week to serve humanity and build bridges to progress for all.
