Our world is going through dark times right now. At least that’s how I feel about it. I’ve planning to record this album since I made the first Night Gestalt album back in 2014. About a year ago it made sense to finally record all the songs that had been coming to me. (...)

And it makes even more sense to release them right now. Music can be a comfort when you’re going through rough times. It can the guiding star that takes you through to the other side. But music can also be a dark void you enter - and never get out of. (....)

I don’t know about this music. I just know it’s made for these times. I hope you will enjoy this album either way.

It's the only song on this album where I explore alternative tuning systems. I think listening to intervals outside of equal temperament ("normal" tuning) takes you to new places in your mind. Away from the familiar and into the unknown.

The Viewer And The View is released today. It's the last single before my album - Staring Light - is out on June 21 (the brightest night of the year, completing the ritual). Like many songs on the upcoming album this song borrows the title from one of my favorite books...

...The interplay between light and shadow in the streets at sunset. The endless bright summer nights of Sweden. Impossible, I know. And that's the magic of music.

Slaughterhouse Light is the first song from my album Field Rituals, Vol. 1 - and it's out now. It was written for - and recorded in - an abandoned slaughterhouse. The echoing space resonated with the cries of seagulls on a spring afternoon. Hope you'll enjoy this ritual.

Field Rituals, Vol. 1 is out now. This project has taken me to abandoned slaughterhouses, desolate beaches and islands. And in all these magical places I have set up my gear and recorded music specifically written for these places. This album is a documentation of these rituals.
