As we got older, many (possibly most) of us got jobs, got married, had kids, sustained friendships... basically lived outwardly "normal" lives... all the while struggling every single day to manage our daily challenges. \5

In the meantime, the DSM was updated to include less obvious traits and the general understanding of autism/adhd evolved. Practitioners started identifying autism/adhd in children who have less obvious traits, and parents started seeing those same traits in themselves... \6

Social media accounts (like mine) started spreading awareness of the less obvious signs... And general exposure to what autism *actually* is became much more mainstream. \7

And suddenly, us undiagnosed neurodivergent adults are realizing that there is a reason for our struggles. That they are not our fault. And that WE ARE NOT ALONE. And there is literally nothing more comforting and validating than that. #AutismAwareness 8\8

SENSIBLE WORLD OF SOCCER on #AMIGA500 (1994) Sensible Soccer sequel, adds a football manager mode and world teams data. Ranked best of all time by Amiga Power mag. People kept the Amiga around because of this game even after moving to newer systems. #AmigaRetweets #pixelart #2D

FYI... Autistic people tend to think in complexities. Someone can ask us to do something seemingly straightforward, but our brains will often make it into something extremely complex and nuanced. We ask questions to untangle our thoughts.

The weirdest thing about #adhd is that you can tell people you have it and they sort of SEEM to understand, and then later are surprised and upset when you do all the things that a person with ADHD would do. Like bro what did you think I meant when I said I had ADHD?

What in the ADHD? (on Bluesky!) (@whattheadhd) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It's exhausting being smart and also having ADHD. It's like a constant internal battle β€” curiosity & introspection vs. executive dysfunction I would be able to learn and do so much more if I weren't my own worst enemy.

It’s hard to know who and what to trust these days… But this incredible clip nails it Simply: Don’t trust idiots And how do you spot an idiot? Look for the people who are cruel…

Can we please stop calling mental illness trendy? No one, I repeat, no one wants to have a mental illness or disability for this matter What people want is an answer to WHY things are happening to them which causes them distress in their everyday life Stop being an asshole

A few things we can do as educators in face of rising fascism: - Promote difference over uniformity - Resist the reduction of education to instrumentalism - Accept the world as complex and uncertain - Encourage critical thinking and challenging of accepted norms and practices

Hi @lucyfrazermp, I'm your constituent, horrified by the killing of thousands of civilians in Gaza. As the death toll continues to rise, we urgently need a ceasefire. Will you back the amendment? #CeasefireNow
