The Ugandan Anti-Homosexuality Act has increased violence and discrimination against LGBT+ people. I’m deeply concerned Uganda continues to roll back human rights. The UK will continue to stand up for a world where people are free from persecution, regardless of their sexuality.

Extremely disappointing that Uganda’s Constitutional Court has essentially upheld the Anti-Homosexuality Act.

This appalling law includes the death penalty for repeat offenders and has seen discrimination and violence against LGBT+ people rise.

We must stand against such hate.

Interesting reflections on equal marriage by David Cameron including the positive influence on other countries who have since introduced the reform and the importance of Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office work on promoting LGBT+ rights globally.

10 years ago today, the first same sex marriages took place in the UK.

It remains one of my proudest moments.

“It is time the Government took horse racing seriously. Rein in the Gambling Commission and its interference, reform the betting levy” … great ⁦The Telegraph⁩ article by ⁦Rt. Hon Ben Wallace MP⁩ telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/03/1…

Good short thread by Martin Wheatley — it’s encouraging to see the agenda for far-reaching reform of the centre of government, which GovernUp kicked off (but was then considered radical) and Commission for Smart Government built on, is now really gaining traction.

Awful news for LGBT+ people and human rights defenders in Ghana.

This Bill would criminalise anyone perceived as identifying as LGBT+ or merely advocating for their rights.

We stand with all those facing increased risk of persecution or violence simply because of who they are.
