When I hear people say that real estate is a "risky" investment - I disagree. Everything has its risks, but real estate is an asset that literally requires insurance against loss. Your house burns down - you've got insurance. Not a bad place to park some money in my opinion.

Owning rental properties: tenants are paying YOU to live in, take care of, and pay down YOUR asset. That is a pretty sweet deal. In return, tenants should be treated with the utmost respect. They're paying for a home and deserve somewhere clean, maintained, and comfortable.

Shelter is a basic human need. Whether you agree with our current system or not, housing costs money. Real Estate is an investment that people will literally always need. When thinking about a safe long term investment, what could be better than that?

Owning property constantly costs money, no doubt about it. I recently had some polyjacking done at a rental property to fix up the concrete. $3500 later. Ouch. But because it's a rental - it's a tax write off. That keeps me smiling. 😃
