This type of post disgusts me, and if I had an ultrablock button that would block Mayank Parmar and everyone who follows them, I would push it as hard as I could. Wassim Alhajomar is a surgeon as well as a programmer. From time to time, he has to use computers at a hospital. If

Bad faith post. Rust correctly identified the config file was exceeding the fixed memory limit (for perf reasons) and shut everything down to prevent further damage. On many other languages (specially C/C++), this error would've been an unmitigated disaster.

Almost panic mode this morning when I forgot the MoniVision doesn't display the OSD menu when it has no input signal. Much cleaning to do, but Stream Deck dev station is almost back now. Doing a home office room change with the number of CRTs I have is a serious challenge

Nice frame breakdown: youtube.com/watch?v=aB5qxp… - lots of engines miss out on pipelining 'fast' clears, best time to clear is right after last usage long before they are needed again

really can't understate how much of a delight it is to use Odin. Every gripe that comes with working in C is addressed and a plethora of new well thought ideas make it incredibly robust and powerful to use.

One reason why XBOX was created, was to stop Sony from sneaking a "computer" into 100 million homes, then making an end run around the Windows monopoly. Once smartphones actually succeeded at doing something like this in the late 2000s, the "console wars" ended in spirit.

Jonathan Doe the fact that this kit existed so early, and that its HDD and ethernet were designed to fit *inside* the PS2 chassis, tells you a lot

Agree, IMO it's terrible that games imported the SaaS mindset of "private server code as a monetisation / lock in strategy". Minecraft, all the Valve games etc, all shipped with a server you could run locally. Did it impact revenue negatively? I'd argue the opposite.

An unexpected thing happened: somehow I received a special award at the Pégases (french game industry awards), partly recognizing the continued work on Dear ImGui. Thank you🙏 academiejeuvideo.org

In 2023 Epic laid off 800 employees, 3 years later another 1000+ employees. Both times the same excuse: we have to cut costs, but now we're good 2023 was Fortnite's most profitable year with over 6 billion in earnings. None of this ever adds up, and Tim never cuts his own pay.
