Students are trying to learn in schools with leaky roofs, aging buildings, & large class sizes. That’s what this government should be focused on, not meddling with internal structures and pushing out democratically elected leaders and trustees to install well-paid insiders.

Probably worth noting that Canada’s foreign affairs minister (and other ministers) mostly fly commercial internationally… Also Finnish President Alexander Stubb was on my United flight Monday from Dulles to Ottawa. (I went for a funeral). Not sure why the Premier needs a jet.

In committee the Minister of Municipal Affairs couldn’t name a single qualification they’ll look for when appointing their hand-picked regional chairs with strong mayor powers. These unelected chairs will have control over budgets & property taxes yet the Minister had no answers.

At committee for Bill 100 appointing regional chairs, I asked why hearings had little notice, leaving presenters no time to prepare, & featured many witnesses seemingly prompted by the government. The chair shut down my question. Public input must be open, fair, & transparent.
