ICYMI…Here is the story from Channel 5 that ran on Wednesday about our boys basketball program! GO INDIANS!

Last night, after our HS practice, I had the chance to go and check out our Norwood 3rd & 5th grade boys team practices. The future is bright! Remember guys…WE PLAY DEFENSE! 💪 GO INDIANS!

January 15, 2025: I’ve been behind on posting some pics recently, but I want to thank our Varsity Assistant Coach Tikoa Kinney for getting his employer, Pepsi Co., to donate our team meal a couple of weeks ago. GO INDIANS!

Thank You to UC Bearcat Tyler McKinley for donating our team meal this past Thursday & to his brother Alex McGlothin for dropping it off and spending time with our team! Tyler & Alex are former players of Coach Callahan’s and will always be family! GO INDIANS!

For the first time since 2015-16 our Norwood Boys Basketball team has won 10 games! We are now 10-5 on the season. At Talawanda on Tuesday 1/27. GO INDIANS!

January 29th: This is a very late post, but THANK YOU to Joseph M Foust & Grace Church of God for donating another meal for our team team a couple of weeks ago! GO INDIANS!

S/O to Juniors Jaylen Hill & L.J. Cave on being named MVC Athletes of the Week for the week of 1/25! They filled up the stat sheet in a big win over New Miami. Jaylen scored 9 pts, grabbed 9 rebounds, and dished out 8 assists. L.J. scored 18 pts and had 9 rebounds. GO INDIANS!

The win total is now 11 for the Indians for the first time since 2015-2016!

February 12th: Thank You to Josh McCarthy, Hee Hauling Junk Removal LLC, and J & W Sandwich Shoppe for our team meal! It was delicious! GO INDIANS!

February 13th: This week the Enquirer Sports - Cincinnati and Kentucky Teams and Athlete of the Week were presented with their certificates! Congratulations to Boys Basketball - Week of 12/25 This is another big accomplishment in a great season for these guys! GO INDIANS!

Congratulations to senior Dillion Taylor on being named Miami Valley Conference Student Athlete of the Week! Dillion had 18 points, six steals, and three assists in a 59-53 win over Reading on February 10th. GO INDIANS!

2/20: This moves our win total to 12 & secures the first winning season for the Norwood Boys Basketball program in a decade and just the third winning season in 30 years! We’re just getting started! The future is bright! OHSAA Tournament against Madeira is up next! GO INDIANS!

From Norwood Athletics…Our Varsity Boys Basketball team accomplished the best program record & best conference finish in 10 seasons! Along with an Enquirer - Cincinnati and KY Team of the Week & was profiled by WLWT this season! They earned 6 All-MVC selections! GO INDIANS!

Congrats to Dillion Taylor on winning the MVC Dick Snyder Award! The Dick Snyder Sportsmanship Award winner is for presented to student-athletes who displays integrity and good sportsmanship during the season. Each winner is nominated by one or more of the MVC Directors.

Thank You to the Norwood McDonald’s for providing our team meal tonight! GO INDIANS!

This year FOUR members of the team earned OHBCA District 16 honors and all four were named to the Ohio Prep Sports Writers Association SW District Team! Congrats to Samir Bland-3rd Team, and Dillion Taylor, Jaylen Hill, & L.J. Cave on earning Honorable Mention! GO INDIANS!

ALL-STATE! Samir Bland adds an all-state nomination to his resume! Congrats to Samir Bland for being named to the Division V All-Ohio Honorable Mention Team! This season he averaged 13.4 points, 7.3 rebounds with a 51% field goal percentage! Congrats Samir! GO INDIANS!
