Veterinary Services trains 7 labs in AMR Laboratory Testing in collaboration with FAO Reference Centre for AMR-UK at National Food Safety Lab

Participants from 7 labs received lectures and hands-on training at NFSL from the 22nd to the 26th of July 2024. The training topics include- Bacteria culture &ID, Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing, Salmonella Serotyping, Laboratory Quality Management & Data Management.

A team of scientists from KCCR-KNUST visited Veterinary Services to see the various laboratories available on Friday,26th July 2024. The team visited the National Food Safety Laboratory (AMR Reference Lab for Animal Health) to see the facilities available.

The head of the Africa office for the Fleming Fund Project visited Veterinary Services with Aurum Institute to interact with the Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr. Emmanuel Allegye-Cudjoe on activities related to AMR control in the Animal Health sector on Thursday,8th August,2024.

The Kumasi Veterinary Laboratory and National Food Safety Laboratory participated in Integrated Global Surveillance Training on ESBL-producing E. coli (Tricycle Protocol) in Ghana from 27th-31st January, 2025 to strengthen National AMR surveillance systems across the country.
