Why does the WCB refuse to issue decisions establishing claims in non-controverted cases so injured workers have a formal determination regarding their case?

Because the WC system is rife with rules, regulations, hoops to jump through, and other obstacles, injured workers who are left to fend for themselves may not receive adequate compensation. Once fairly simple, the system has become unnecessarily complex.

Why did the WCB adopt and mandate the use of the PARs (“Prior Authorization Request”) system without adequately staffing the Medical Director’s Office which oversees all Level 3 reviews necessitating injured workers wait for months for decisions regarding their treatment?

Despite the various difficulties injured workers encounter every day, they do not receive the fundamental help they require. This has to change!

Why haven’t the WCB service centers re-opened?

Workers who sustain injuries on the job should receive appropriate care. It's time to re-think workers' compensation in New York!

Why did the WCB eliminate the C-21 form, which allowed an injured worker to apply for an advance on their periodic payment of compensation?

Currently, an injured worker's case may be resolved without a hearing. Every injured worker deserves to have their case heard.

Injured workers should not have to jump through hoops and hurdles during their recovery. Lawmakers: help injured workers this legislative session!
