Who is a Decision Maker? A Decision Maker is the person at the center of Supported Decision Making. They choose: • What decisions they want support with • Who they trust as supporters • How they want support to look Most importantly, they make the final decision every time.

MYTH: Supporters make decisions for the people they help. FACT: Supporters do not make decisions. They explain options, help gather information, and support communication—but the decision always belongs to the Decision Maker. Your life. Your decisions. Your support system.
