As Chair of South Leicestershire Scouts I'm grateful to hear that our contingent of Leicestershire Scouts are safe and well over at the World Scout Jamboree.

This morning, the Govt of the Republic of Korea with support from #Scouts on the ground began facilitating the early departure of 40,000 people from the #ScoutJamboree campsite in SaeManGeum. This is for the safety of all as #TyphoonKhanun approaches Korea.

Really proud of our Scouts today across South Leicestershire. As Chair of the District Scouts, I attended the parade this year in Lutterworth. Despite adverse conditions, the young people represented our organisation commendably.

It was great to be invited back to my old school, Lutterworth College, recently to share with students my career path since leaving the school. The jobs market is a tough place but it was great to hear the ambitions and aspirations of the young people in the room.

It's not often you get the chance to represent the area you grew up in. I'm delighted to be standing in South Leicestershire at the General Election on 4th July for the Labour Party. There's a lot of communities out there who are asking for change. I'm proud to offer that.
