As part of #vulnerableroadusers week here is some advice for cyclists on submitting high quality evidence. 1 - a fixed camera provides a good frame of reference to measure distance. /1

If a cyclist is taking primary position it's for their own safety and not to inconvenience other road users. Just be patient and wait, overtake when safe #RoadSafety

There is just no need for this, serves no advantage and just shows really bad judgement and lack of care! πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ #fail #roadsafety #gloucestershire

If you are teaching someone to drive please teach them correctly! In this instance a simple gesture to the driver was enough for them to learn hopefully permanently! #learnerdriver #roadsafety #gloucestershire #closepass

At last a close pass that has led to further action! Very bad judgement from the Mazda driver, road narrowed and tried to blindly follow the cars in front πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Just got another email confirming action will be taken for a second (unrelated) close pass. A definite improvement from Gloucestershire Constabulary but we still have a long fight ahead and much more work to do if we are to improve the system & make the roads safer for everyone #RoadVictimMonth

I've come across this in a previous FOI request made to Gloucestershire Constabulary, the numbers don't make for good reading. I have submitted a further request to try and break these down further into categories such as 'close pass' and 'mobile use' etc

My last Saturday shift with my current employer before moving on and the first dark ride in months. That time of the year is coming again! #BeSafeBeSeen

Bailey Ranger Stationary phone drivers are still dangerous for many reasons: Β  1) The people using their phones when stationary are very often the same people using them when moving. They only put the phone down because I caught them. 2) They are entirely unaware of people crossing the road

This good example of why driving too close to cyclists is dangerous, if the driver had given the cyclist space then he would have the room needed to avoid the door
