I think games need to start designing and expressing the difference between being a, "Pick up and play" and, "Sit down and play". Avoid trying to mix the 2.
EA forced Battlefield games to become pick up and play (for the CoD money) and it only resulted in pissed off BF fans.
I'm playing Splitgate 2 and I can feel a good game under the hood here, but fucking hell is everything so badly designed.
Like, the guns don't have any identity from each other. It's either spam shots, or one shots. Despite 3 dozen different weapons.

What they should do is remove SBMM but then add in damage handicaps for the rank difference.
