I can’t claim to speak on behalf of all acute medics but I remain convinced that ACPs and PAs are vital to the future (and present!) of the specialty. They improve not only the care we offer patients but the training we offer FYs and IMTs.

While we’re at it, not a big fan of the phrase “saving lives”. I don’t save many (any?) lives. I do my best to comfort, to explain, to empower and advocate for my patients. It’s decent, honest, ordinary work and I deserve to be paid as much for it as I would’ve been 10 years ago.

Too often patients are getting a new diagnosis of cancer in an Emergency Department corridor. This is awful. Whole system recovery is essential. UEC recovery huge element of this.
