Hi all. I’m Nedda Lewers. My MG debut Daughters of the Lamp recently came out. The sequel, Children of the Wind, comes out in June. So happy I could make it tonight #MGBookChat.

A2: I'm a no on profanity in my own books. As a former teacher, one of my favorite things to do was read aloud to students, and I wouldn't have felt comfortable reading profanity aloud. #MGBookChat

I think contemporary dialogue can be a tool for enhancing characters' relatability, but ultimately it's a character's vulnerability that makes me relate as a reader. All the contemporary dialogue in the world can't replace that. #MGBookChat

A5: OMG! One of my favorite parts of writing Daughters of the Lamp was including Arabic in the dialogue. I also love reading books that include a different language. Really drops me into the world of the character. #MGBookChat
