#Day12: Grassroot women and girls w disabilities face heightened risks of sexual & GBV. To combat their vulnerabilities to SGBV, we must remove the barriers in accessing information, heightened prejudices and stigma and inaccessibility to GBV Recovery Centers #16DaysOfActivism

#Day13: In our existing intersecting identities, young women w disabilities remain vulnerable to SGBV. Creating safe spaces for them to find peer support should be made possible. Programs to address SGBV must be accessible to them. #16DaysOfActivism #WomenWithDisabilitiesVoices

#Day14: Women w disabilities must be empowered as they are often afraid to report abuse moreso if they are dependent on the abuser. Those with intellectual disabilities for e.g often do not report the abuse which goes on unchecked for a long time. #16DaysOfActivism

The Network is joining a two-day workshop by KNCHR to discuss legislation concerning persons with disabilities and Kenya’s obligations under the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It has been an engaging and insightful discussion with valuable learnings.
