You know you’re losing it when you fall terribly sick the week before finals and start having daily nightmares about all the exams, reports and assignments due over the course of the next week... 😫🤧🤒😖🥵Ah, grad school...

Really cool arXiv paper. Can’t claim to understand all of it, but fascinating conclusion: there is no objective reality (maybe?) arxiv.org/abs/1902.05080

Really blown away by Polina Anikeeva’s talk and the potential use of magnetic neurotransducers to manipulate neural activity, which seems to have some advantages over optogenetics. Will definitely be watching this space in the future. #neuromatch2020

Karl Friston on consciousness as a process of inference and not a "thing" to be defined, with a bit of chaos theory thrown in. Not sure I completely agree, but definitely an interesting perspective. Also, provocative (see comments section). aeon.co/essays/conscio… via Aeon Magazine

Might be showing that I'm a bit behind the times here...but an endovascular brain machine interface? And one that can potentially read from conventionally inaccessible and deeper brain structures like the cerebellum? This is really neat. jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/…

Kudos to Black Mirror (S3E6) for noting the dorsal posterior insula's role in pain processing! Even if it might not be the 'pain center'...

Can't believe I didn't know about Ada's Technical Books @ CapHill until today. Such a lovely, nerdy/geeky, chill bookstore & cafe. Love it!

I can't get over how amazing this is. Using VR to study behavior in flies, rodents and zebrafish. The authors even designed a portal game that let zebrafish trigger the appearance a swarm of space invaders by choosing one portal over another! nature.com/articles/nmeth…
