Sounds of Cinema review: ZOOTOPIA 2 doesn’t do anything as interesting as the first film and it’s mostly more of the same. But this sequel is competently done and will appeal to its core audience. soundsofcinema.com/review-archive…

Sounds of Cinema review: SENTIMENTAL VALUE is a smart and intimate portrait of a family but also a thoughtful examination of the intersection of life and art. soundsofcinema.com/review-archive…

Sounds of Cinema review: There is a difference between being morally ambiguous and just having nothing to say. AFTER THE HUNT tends toward the latter. soundsofcinema.com/review-archive…

Sounds of Cinema review: RENTAL FAMILY is beautifully made and it’s a smart and sensitive film about relationships and where emotions and reality intersect. soundsofcinema.com/review-archive…

Sounds of Cinema review: ANEMONE looks great but there is nothing here beneath the style and technique. soundsofcinema.com/review-archive…

I thought the media’s complacent coverage of the WMD Iraq lie represented contemporary journalism’s lowest moment but watching their silence while their colleagues are murdered is somehow worse.

Tune in December 7, 2025 for reviews of ETERNITY and A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE and SISU: ROAD TO REVENGE and PLAYDATE and WICKED: FOR GOOD as well as a variety of movie music and film headlines. Sounds of Cinema airs Sunday morning at 9am on KQAL 89.5 FM and at 11am on KMSU The Maverick.

Sounds of Cinema (@soundsofcinema2) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Sounds of Cinema review: ETERNITY is a creative riff on the love triangle premise and there is a lot to admire about it but the filmmakers ultimately fall back on romantic comedy clichés. soundsofcinema.com/review-archive…

Sounds of Cinema (@soundsofcinema2) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Sounds of Cinema review: A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE works as a procedural, taking the viewer through a nightmare scenario, and it is an unsettling reminder of the imminent danger of nuclear war. soundsofcinema.com/review-archive…

Sounds of Cinema (@soundsofcinema2) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Sounds of Cinema review: SISU: ROAD TO REVENGE is a worthy companion to the original picture that deepens the characters and provides a satisfying end to this story. soundsofcinema.com/review-archive…

Sounds of Cinema (@soundsofcinema2) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Sounds of Cinema review: PLAYDATE feels like a dark, R-rated story that’s been contorted into a family-friendly PG-13 version. A few laughs early on give way to a cliché buddy action comedy marred by terribly misjudged shifts in tone. soundsofcinema.com/review-archive…

Sounds of Cinema (@soundsofcinema2) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Sounds of Cinema review: WICKED: FOR GOOD is a satisfying enough conclusion to this musical and it ought to satisfy the fans of the first movie. It’s also a mediocre use of an interesting idea that is carried by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande-Butera. soundsofcinema.com/review-archive…

The #GoldenGlobes2026 nominations are really weird. Not so much who was nominated but for what: - IF I HAD LEGS I'D KICK YOU is a comedy? - Ariana Grande is a supporting player in WICKED: FOR GOOD? - MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE: THE FINAL RECKONING for box office achievement?

I stand by my assertion that MEGALOPOLIS was Coppola’s THE PHANTOM MENACE. MEGADOC looks to be the equivalent of THE BEGINNING, the STAR WARS making-of documentary that was so much more interesting than the movie itself.

We’re in “a golden age of freedom” this tech billionaire says as congress is in the midst of trying to pass the most horrific and restrictive censorship and surveillance laws of our lifetime bc the MSM has whipped up a fake moral panic about the internet. Get out of here!
