Each time we meet virtually to work on curriculum writing, there is something new that I am able to appreciate about this experience. The latest joy is how well the team leaders Dr. Lisa Corbin and Venola Mason are modeling what remote learning can and should look like in classrooms.

It’s easy to recall the negatives forced on us amid the COVID-chaos. Instead, I choose to highlight that which will help us propel forward. We have proven that we are STRONG, RESILIENT, BRAVE, and INNOVATIVE. And so are our students. This is the narrative that speaks to my truth!

Day 4 of intense PD Responsive Classroom . I’m ecstatic to move forward with this learning, but today, I take a second to mourn the fact that I’ve spent abt 10,260 hours in the classroom, WITHOUT this knowledge. I really could have made an even greater impact!

Educators, we shouldn’t have to say, “You might get away with this at your house...” to preface redirecting our expectations. It’s demeaning. Instead, we should be teaching students that they should adjust to different expectations in different environments. #culturalrelevance

Solid, effective Tier 1 instruction AND solid Tier 1 classroom management reduce the probability of mislabeling and misdiagnosing.

I had a hard time with Pre-Algebra in person, and now my sweet Babygirl is trying to figure out how to be successful with Algebra I via Zoom. How are some teachers really justifying giving failing grades on anything right now? 😫😫

The old me: I’m dressed 15 mins earlier than normal. I guess I’ll go in early to get an earlier start. The new me: (Dressed 15 min early). “Hmm, I have extra time to read, snuggle, load the dishwasher and time to prepare a cup of coffee at home.”#Protectyourtime
