Astonishingly, back in 1888, students at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) were already taught that the CO2 level could be used to monitor the quality of indoor air renewal, and the recommended levels were exactly those recommended today by experts: 600, 800, 1000 and 1500 ppm.
