Lilly’s Bimagrumab blocks the receptor for myostatin and activin A. In a prior Phase 2, Bimagrumab helped T2D patients lose fat mass while increasing lean mass. Lilly hopes that a strong anabolic agent like bimagrumab can help achieve pure fat mass loss, but avoid the safety

The eukaryotic tRNA chaperone La impacts tRNA modification levels (queuosine and others). Interesting because in procaryotes, tRNA modif enzymes themselves are thought to be chaperones. In both cases, there seems to be a link between modif and chaperones. academic.oup.com/nar/article/53…

A fascinating new study by Vishnu Shankar et al. Stanford Immunology shows that oxidative stress is a shared characteristic of ME/CFS and Long COVID in lymphocytes due to inability to clear reactive oxygen species. This happens in sex-specific manner. (1/) pnas.org/doi/abs/10.107…

Many proteins bind RNA, yet we still don’t know what RNAs most bind because methods map one RBP at a time. In Cell, with the Jovanovic lab, we describe SPIDR – a method for mapping the RNA binding sites of dozens of RBPs in a single experiment. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
