The gym is worn. Dimly lit. Cold. Grayson takes in a breath once he finally steps across the threshold, releasing it in a peaceful exhale shortly after. “Hey, Ted Grant..”

Of 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 not. She’s one of the most genuine people he’s ever met.

Sometimes she could use a little encouragement. She’s 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 than she gives herself credit for. And if not for her— well, he’d still be lost.

Controlled breaths. Strike after strike to the center of Ted’s heavy bag. His form is as good as its ever been. The force from his punches rock the bag back and forth. His feet begin to move in rhythm, sidestepping, backstepping. Alternating between jabs and straights.

He groans as he wakes. The night was 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵, but he’d managed. Grayson’s rage had toned itself down over the past weeks. No longer did bloodstained knuckles still ache when he flexed his hands.

“Took you long enough.” He stands a ways back from opening elevator doors, hands in his pockets. Above his head there’s a ‘Welcome Back Kory!’ banner, beautifully made by Gar and Raven. Kory.

“Tonight is about observation. You’ll need to be to spot out unusual circumstances or occurrences from what you know is normal. You all have your surveillance tapes. In three hours, I need a report on what you’ve gathered. We’ll go over the footage together.”
