To fix our health care system, we need more than good coverage for everyone. We also need to make sure anticompetitive mergers don't give companies the power to jack up prices or limit treatment options for patients, especially for those with a life-or-death illness.

This is exactly the point - Research is costly & doing the same thing again and again only to debunk a rumor comes at a really high opportunity cost - that of actually advancing science & medicine. Wouldn't spending that money on #education be more pertinent here? #VaccinesWork

#QuestionOfTheDay Are people less likely to smoke because of the higher premiums they would face? And if so, could #insurers charge #antivaxxers more? Not vaccinating your child/yourself is a preventable risky behavior, so shouldn't it be treated the same as smoking?

I picked up 4-year-old from childcare at coworking space. Me:“Did you enjoy your time w/ (insert caregiver name)? What did she do w/ you?” 4-year-old: “No, mama, he. (Insert name) uses he.” “It’s easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” — Frederick Douglass

An additional malpractice lawsuit has about the same effect as being located 1 minute further away - an excellent paper by Andrew Smith at @ashecon this year!
