Why is the orifice in a steam trap so small compared to the connection size? It's because it only accommodates for condensate flow. A tiny 2-3mm [⅛ inch] orifice can discharge 350 kg/h [770 lb/h] at a 0.2 MPaG [30 psi] pressure differential. Learn more: www2.tlv.com/steam-info/ste…
