#DirectorTips: After you go out to casting, make sure you are getting TALENTED actors. Bad actors ruin a beautifully shot short.

#DirectorTips: Once you shoot the film, submit it to film festivals. Win some awards, then shoot 3 more.

#DirectorTips: After you have enough footage to build a spectacular director's reel, get a rep to send you out to managers and agents.

#DirectorTips: No-name directors get to direct major films ALL THE TIME and it's because of their REELS.

#DirectorTips: If you're a writer-director, make sure you WRITE your shorts in addition to DIRECTING them.

#DirectorTips: Before shooting your shorts, spend time really working out your shot list & make sure your DP sees your vision.

#DirectorTips: Create a signature style with your directing. Make sure each film has that signature style, but make sure they're original.

#DirectorTips: Once your manager gets you with a big agent (if you're a writer-director) write original specs that YOU will direct.
