Peter is correct on all counts except one: the rim road isn't that bad. Try driving up to the Owhyee dam (Eastern Oregon) or Route (Highway?) 30 north of Kaanapali on Maui. Those drives just about killed me! 😱

LRT: Don't read the comments. Part of me isn't surprised at all because Idaho (and Wyoming, and the other states involved), but talk about being on the wrong side of history. The Pac12 needs to be careful with their new members and set proper expectations.
