1. Federal law (18 U.S.C. §611) already makes it a felony for noncitizens to vote in federal elections.

2. House Republicans introduced this same law as a stunt last Congress.

Since it is illegal for non-citizens to vote, folks need to see this for what it is: An effort to make it more difficult for citizens to vote. There are plenty of Americans who do not have proof of citizenship and who will be deterred from voting by such legislation.
