Magna Vista senior Rion Martin committed this week to continue his football career at Ferrum College in the fall. Martin accounted for 30 total touchdowns for the Warriors and was twice named First Team All-Piedmont District last season.

Congratulations to the MVHS Softball team on their 6-0 win over Patrick County in the first round of the Piedmont District Softball Tournament. Today was the last home game for the Lady Warriors Seniors, Kailee, Delaney, Shelby, & Carlee we wish you the best and we will miss you.

The MVHS Baseball Seniors had senior night last week and six seniors were recognized. Paxton, Caden, & Austin we appreciate your hard work and the Warrior Nation wishes you the best.

The Magna Vista Softball team will be in action tomorrow, Wednesday, May 18 at Tunstall High School who are hosting the Piedmont District semifinals and finals. The Warriors will be taken on the Comets from Halifax. Game time 5:00 PM.

PD BOYS SOCCER SEMIFINALS: Magna Vista will play GW-Danville on Friday at 6. Bassett will play Tunstall at 8. Both games will be played at Smith River Sports Complex.

PD GIRLS SOCCER SEMIFINALS: Magna Vista 9, Bassett 0 Morgan Smith had 3 goals, 1 asst for MVHS. Shanyah Spencer, Jennifer Ruiz, Camille Underwood, Skylar Hopkins, Baylie Coleman, Ava Walker all had a goal. Baylie Coleman and Ava Walker added assists.

PD BOYS SOCCER SEMIFINAL: Magna Vista 2, GW-Danville 0 Gustavo Vera-Carillo scored both goals for the Warriors on assists from Jaxon Britton and Eduardo Perez-Sandoval. Nathaniel Pearson posted the shutout with 2 saves.

PD GIRLS SOCCER FINAL: Magna Vista 2, Halifax Co. 0 The Warriors win the PD regular season and tournament titles.

MVHS track members who qualified for the VHSL State Championship. Deontae Lawson 100m (region runner-up) , 200m, triple jump & high jump. Tania Starkie 100-hurdles (region champ), 100m, triple jump and long jump. J'mere Hairston 100m. Nick Becker long jump (region runner-up)

Magna Vista's Tania Starkie ran 16.53 to finish 6th in the girls 100m hurdles at the VHSL Class 3 state championship in Lynchburg.
