The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services says residents on Montserrat should start, to implement, their hurricane disaster plans as a tropical storm is expected to affect Montserrat beginning late Monday and Tuesday.

MVO operates over 50 monitoring stations using a wide variety of techniques to include seismology, geology, geochemistry, petrology, deformation and degassing. Many of these are remote, powered by solar energy and telemeter the data back to MVO in real time.

At 11 a.m., the center of Tropical Storm Ernesto was located near 16.9N, 62.6 W. Ernesto is moving toward the west-northwest near 18 mph. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph with higher gusts. Stay Indoors, Stay Safe!

Photos of the three crossings of the Belham Valley River. Happy Hill and Dr Woods crossings are currently impassable due to lahars caused by rainfall from the passage of a Tropical Wave. Hence, all sand mining operations and tours south of the Belham Valley are suspended.
