Another good win today for UAB over UTEP. A really good 2nd half performance! Very efficient on O! Ertel and Benjamin led the way tonite. Also really good contributions from Nicholson and Jackson. Defended well and shots were going down. Created pace/tempo in the 2nd half!

Good win tonite for UAB over Old Dominion. Phenomenal games by Tavin L and Tyreek S-G. Another key was Kassim N. Great 2nd half by UAB. Got pace/tempo amped up! Press triggered quick shots and turnovers by ODU. Led to UAB baskets and trips to the FT line. 46 2nd half points.

UAB beats Rust College handily tonite at Bartow Arena. Was really happy for Tony Toney. Had 23 points. Really athletic and really aggressive. He is not in UAB's Top 8 rotation. But has kept a good attitude. And made the most of his opportunity tonite! Happy for him!

UAB at UTSA in a little over an hour. Trying to get the sweep. Won last nite 64-57. Defended! Quan Jackson led the way with 19 points. When UAB "makes shots", they are really good, because they can guard you at the other end. Tremendous length and Trey J at the rim on D.

Great win tonite for UAB on the road vs North Texas. UAB's best win of the year. UAB's changing defenses had North Texas completely flustered. Mike Ertel led the way for UAB. A really smart game plan and was very well executed.

UAB wins again today for the sweep vs North Texas. Balanced scoring attack! 23-27 from the free throw line. +12 on the glass. A great team win vs a really good team on the road. Gives UAB momentum as they head to the CUSA tourney. 21st win of the season.

Good win for UAB in CUSA tourney. Length and versatility on D was a major factor. Also phenomenal team rebounding to dominate the glass. Also another low turnover game. Play WKU tomorrow in semi's at 11am. Great tradition and history with both programs! Will be a good game.

Hard-fought loss by UAB today vs WKU. Could have easily gone the other way. Great energy and attitude. Defended and rebounded well enough. Needed to make a few more baskets. Great nucleus coming back! Good start for Andy and his staff. 22 wins. The future is bright.

Congratulations to our 30 scholarship invitees who just completed our inaugural academy. The Impact Basketball & Life Skills Academy, hosted by the Bartow Family Foundation strives to encourage and inspire kids, both on and off the court. This was a great group of young men!

Our 2022 Impact Basketball & Life Skills Academy is now complete. We had an intense week in the gym. And we had a number of great speakers, such as former NFL player Reggie Torbor, who poured into these young men. We will stay connected to these 30 kids as they enter HS.

Happy Fathers Day to all dads! We just finished our 2022 Impact Basketball & Life Skills Academy. Hosted by the Bartow Family Foundation, to honor the memory of Gene Bartow. I miss my dad every single day. He was loyal. He was a people-person. He was just a really good man.♥️

A huge thank you to David Knight and his entire team at Bandwagon Sports! David helped us with the logos and embroidery on our gear. Turned out great! And they have a fantastic retail store in downtown Homewood. I highly recommend Bandwagon Sports!

I saw one of my all-time favorites today in Flint, MI. Kevin Tiggs was a great player for us at ETSU. And like every single day I’ve ever been around him, he had that great spirit and joy and incredible smile. He was an outstanding player, but I love him more as a person.

It was great to spend some time with Courtney Pigram yesterday. I was privileged to be his coach at ETSU. He was a heck of a player and an incredibly tough competitor. And could he score the ball! And I am proud of the father and man he has become!

Enjoyed being in Allen Fieldhouse yesterday at KU practice. Coach Self was great! And I loved spending the day with Coach Lee Hunt, who was my father’s right hand man for MANY years! When I think of the early success of UAB Basketball, Coach Hunt was a Major part of all that!
