I wrote a fun, hands-on tutorial for scientists/bioinformaticians on how to create bioinformatics pipelines from the bottom up: ricomnl.com/blog/bottom-up…

Perhaps it's because covid was allowed to rip through the country just prior to school starting and the delay between 1st and 2nd doses in kids coincided with it hitting schools stuff.co.nz/national/healt…

Here are some slides I show sometimes with data (from biorxiv.org/content/10.110…) on skewed journal citation distributions. JIF is a preposterous and inappropriate measure of individual article quality. Don’t get beclowned by the JIF

I voted YES for strike action: to use what power we have to force our institutions to amend unsustainable working conditions (after sustaining them for years), and pay rates vastly out of sync with living costs & pay increases in other sectors (for academic AND general staff)

Update on this - it's super slick. If you're using Rstudio projects, just one command `softbib()` crawls your project space and kicks out nice latex/rmd/doc files for your software bibliography. Strong #rstats recommend.
