So happy Council passed initial zoning bylaw amendments to allow NEW neighbourhood grocery stores across city in response my #cornerstores motion. Great quick start action. NGS’s build connections and support livable communities. More to come on farm stands, local stores...

A really great example of modernizing regulations, & during Red Tape Awareness Week no less! Thank you City of Vancouver Mayor and Council! "The regulations that were in existence only allowed neighbourhood grocery stores that had been in operation prior to 1980,"

Some good news for small businesses today. Wage and rent subsidy formulas will stay the same until June and revenue comparisons can continue to be made to pre-pandemic revenue. But so much more still needed. cfib-fcei.ca/en/media/news-….

BC has worked hard to keep as many small businesses open as possible during the pandemic. The province has not used a "lockdown forever and forget to reopen" approach like Ontario. But this move is going to hurt many BC small firms.

Metro Vancouver restaurants grappling with news that as of midnight they won't be able to have indoor dining - just take out and patio seating until April 19th. Hawk stuck with food he can't sell & staff who won't be able to pay rent. CKNW omny.fm/shows/steele-d…

Greater restrictions means it’s more difficult for #smallbiz to bring workers back & keep them employed, or make enough revenues to keep their doors open/reopen them when restrictions are lifted... additional support is needed to offset the restrictions.

Port Coquitlam businesses - reach out. We’ve established an “One Stop Shop” Biz Hub to support businesses and our outdoor space/patio program is one call away. No red tape, no fees. Let us help you - and to our residents: let’s have local biz back, shop local, order local.

Thanks Mike Smyth for having #CFIB on to talk about the new business restrictions in #BC - lifelines are still needed for #smallbiz, more clarity around support for restaurants and gyms who were forced shut as of midnight is needed. #bcpoli
