Happy Independence Day! I meant to post this two days ago, but forgot. This is me with Bruce Springsteen and was taken 40 years ago (2nd of July 1984) outside the Marriott Hotel in Minneapolis MN during his #BornintheUSA tour. He is, by far, the nicest rock star I’ve ever met!
Happy Annversary to us — today we celebrate 23 years of togetherness! We met on the 22nd of July 2001 and got legally married on the 22nd of July 2008, so it’s legal anniversary number 16. I love you with all my heart, Seth Eskigian ❤️🎉❤️🎉❤️🎉❤️
.Taffy Brodesser-Akner What a sensational follow-up to #FleishmanIsInTrouble! I loved #LongIslandCompromise — 440 pages of relentless entertainment. The Fletcher family is loaded with juicy characters, with Nathan at the very top of that list & Ruth a close second. A 10/10 triumph!
.Chris Whitaker With everyone *raving* about #AllTheColorsOfTheDark, I decided to read Mr. Whitaker’s first three books before tackling ATCOTD. I finished #TallOaks (his debut) this morning and enjoyed it very much, including the wacky Manny. Next up: #AllTheWickedGirls.
.Chris Whitaker Soup for dinner while finishing #AllTheWickedGirls. A tiny bit long, but significantly more ambitious than #TallOaks - the writing is excellent. Atheists like me won’t find the God stuff gripping - it’s not overly distracting tho. Next up: #WeBeginAtTheEnd.
.Chris Whitaker Now that I’ve finished #WeBeginAtTheEnd, it’s clearly the best of the 3 written prior to #AllTheColorsOfTheDark, which I’ll begin reading tonight. WBATE is superb on so many levels; what a perfect title! The closing chapters wrecked me, esp. Robin’s fate!
.Chris Whitaker I’ve now read all 4 of Mr. Whitaker’s novels, one right after the other and, unsurprisingly, #AllTheColorsofTheDark is his masterpiece. I’m sure the final page of everyone’s copy is drenched in tears. This is the best book I’ve read all year! A solid 10/10.
