#BPS2024 check out our lab's presentations & pls reach out if you want to chat! Posters:B128 (Samantha Fallacaro ) txn activator hubs, B195(Gabriela Hayward-Lara ) repressive bodies. Talks: Apratim (Appy) PolII kinetics(13th,5:30 p 201AB), myself, on how hubs find their targets (14th,9:30a BRA)

🤣🤣🤣 Honored to have been selected by the organizers at Biophysical Society annual meeting to give a talk on how the kinetics of RNA Pol II change during development in a live embryo🤓

Super excited to share our lab’s new preprint!! In this work we use advanced imaging techniques, detailed genomics and new analysis pipelines to investigate what happens to a transcription factor when its DNA binding is perturbed. Check it out!

We had a great time hosting our third annual annual workshop for high schoolers in the Penn OER summer program program with activities on regenerative medicine, optical alignment, light-sheet microscopy, image segmentation, and of course Drosophila!

Fantastic review article highlighting key insights that single molecule tracking has revealed over the years about transcription kinetics and the 3D genome. Highly recommend for anyone entering the field :)

Thanks to all in the community who gave constructive feedback. We have updated our pre-print including new imaging in additional mutants & genomics analysis. Open science and community peer review FTW in helping us strengthen our findings: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

We had some fun with photo-physics this Halloween. See if you can figure out some of our (very) interpretative demonstrations of (FRET, photoconversion, &, localization microscopy). Happy Halloween!🤓🎃

After reviewing over 200+ manuscripts as a journal editor, I've noticed a pattern: papers that combine robust research with clear writing get accepted 3x more often than those with equivalent research but poor presentation. 17 genuine bits of advice for research paper writers

I'm super happy to now be able to share the published version of our paper at Science Advances showing that: 1) active histone mods occur independently of transcription 2) transcription coordinates histone deacetylation at active promoters science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Our brain-to-voice synthesis brain-computer interface paper was published in nature today! This neuroprosthesis synthesized the voice of a man with ALS instantaneously, enabling him to ‘speak’ flexibly and modulate the prosody of his BCI-voice. 1/7 Paper: rdcu.be/eqH3C
