There are a myriad of unintended consequences linkable to recent changes in CBB. I don't think that the results of 1 or 2 NCAA tournaments are a part of that. In a format where it is one game and out, literally anything can (and has) happened. That includes upsets AND chalk #mubb

With DO committed to returning the four most of us "knew" (pretty sure, convinced, whatever) would be back, are back. From here I'm not sure we have anywhere near as much certainty. Whether it is the player's or coach's choice, everyone else probably is a tougher decision. #mubb

After a week of dribs and drabs a flurry of players announced their intent to transfer yesterday. While the portal doesn't officially open for two weeks many are making it known they will enter. So far no #mubb players but I'd expect some soon. Technically we know there is one.

I know this was shared with the #mubb tag already but I really want to encourage anyone who wasn't old enough or didn't watch Al coach to watch this. He had such a great broadcasting career it may be easy to forget (or not know) how special he was as a coach.

At this point I think we see at the most one more transfer. I highly doubt Shaka is giving up on any of the incoming freshman, true or redshirt. That leaves Clark & Hamilton. I don't see them both leaving for sure. Still possible one does but be prepared they both may stay. #mubb

Tough loss with Nevada Smith headed to Siena. Very well deserved, however. Many of us will have a rooting interest in Siena and I'd bet $100 we see them on the schedule down the road. #mubb

Watching the best players leaving high caliper tournament teams and can't be grateful enough for Shaka's relationship and retention strategy. It may not work forever, so I won't underestimate it while it does. We have something special at #mubb

"Way too early" predictions have always been a bit hilarious but given the portal hasn't even been officially open for a half day, they are bordering on pathetic. Rating teams for 26-27 now means willingly choosing to ignore major swings over the next month. #mubb

I needed a refresher and I thought it might help others not paying great attention. The men's portal closes on April 21. No new entries after that. Campus visits can't start until April 10. No contact until the name is officially entered in the portal (HA!) #mubb

One thing that hasn't been discussed much lately is the death of the walk-on. Braeden Brenn may well be the last walk-on ever for #mubb. He's grandfathered in so can be the 16th member of the team (assuming he stays).

Last year saw 2652 transfers. About 540 never found a new home (some of those were potential grad transfers.) We are currently sitting at 1400 for this year, about 25% of players. #mubb
