My wonderful mam Marilyn Jones passed away peacefully at the weekend. She was 86. She led a remarkable life of service to others & had dedicated herself to community & voluntary work in the Rhondda, including work for women’s groups, church, the Labour Party & amateur football,

After 18 weeks & 58 NHS appointments, I have - finally - been given the all clear following surgery to remove a lump on my back. Thanks to my family for playing nurse to me over that time and to the NHS staff at QEH, all of whom have been amazing. Onwards

I have been fortunate this week to visit both University of Sydney and UNSW and to give a presentation at the UNSW City Futures Research Centre on digital engagement and strategic planning for new metro transport schemes. Wonderful to catch up with friends after a gap of so many years too
