Today we hosted Dave Evans from DMBinS who was keen to hear about the formation of the Club & see the Middle Trail as part of his research for the UK Trails Study. It was also great to see new directional signage disks to the Middle Trail Trailhead have been installed.

Great news - the Belfast City Council People & Communities Committee meeting tonight has just approved our MOU essentially this means that the ‘pilot’ Middle Trail evaluation has been successfully completed and we are now permanent. It’s taken a while but we have finally got there!

In June of we wrote Andrew Muir MLA asking for a meeting to discuss access to Tollymore & other DAERA owned forests. After 3 mths we were disappointed to be refused. Sadly intransigence ignores the risks & regular call-outs by rescue services to help injured mountain bikers.

Please note that the path highlighted (red & white) in the attached map will be closed for filming on Friday the 13th of Sept from 7am to 12 noon. We ask all mountain bikers to avoid this area during these times. Belfast City Council
