I got this note today from a friend who I served with, desperately trying to save his interpreter and his pregnant wife and kids – who are stranded at the airport in Kabul. We’re doing all we can to help.

The single greatest challenge of our era is to transform without wrath, war, or wariness.

Some students go an entire day at school without anyone saying their name. Be the adult who speaks to each student by name. Everyone loves to hear their name.

This is how I explain the start of school to non-educators: Starting school is like trying to push a giant boulder downhill. A ton of effort is required to get the boulder moving but once it’s set in motion, there’s no stopping it.

10/8/24 Today I 🩵 my job because I teach with Zag. She had a really tough day, but part of the reason it was so hard was because she cares so much about our kids & is such an amazing teacher. I'm pretty sure she's a reason people love being at HHS more days that she realizes.

11/14/24 Today I 💚 my job because I got to work with Zag! She may be leaving us, but without this job I wouldn't have gotten to know this awesome human.
