Had a great time at Graham Road ES celebrating the reopening of their salad bar. Even Ms. Pea and Ms. Carrot joined us for lunch! Thanks to the work of Food and Nutrition Services and Real Food for Kids, students now have more healthy meal options to fuel their day.

Schools are closed for students Thursday, January 26 & Friday, Jan. 27. We look forward to seeing the students Monday, Jan. 30.

Our Pre-K students know how to check out books. 4th grade is tackling literacy. Ms. Kercher & Ms. Moncure’s 3rd Grade classes celebrated their All-About books with hot cocoa and “starbooks”. 2nd grade is enhancing their conversational Spanish.

Join us in celebrating Read across America week. Tuesday: wear pick or gray; Wednesday: wear white or orange; Thursday: Bring a pillow, blanket, or stuffed animal and let’s get cozy with a book.

I was in Ballston this afternoon and had to check out Read Early and Daily (R.E.A.D.) bookstore! They have a diverse and wide range of books for babies all the way to teens. They have a teacher discount too. Check them out 📚

4th grade has been learning about functional format texts. Earlier this week they had to create directions on how to make a PB&J sandwich! After a few drafts, they finalized their directions. Today they put their directions to the test and made PB&J sandwiches! Graham Road ES
