State representative Melanie Stinnett has sent a letter to NCAA requesting Missouri State football to be allowed to compete in a bowl game.

Today, I sent a letter to the NCAA urging them to allow Missouri State’s football team to be eligible for postseason play as the Bears move up to the FBS level. Our student-athletes shouldn’t be punished for decisions they didn’t make. They’ve earned the right to compete.

.Missouri State Football student-athletes have earned their shot — an outdated NCAA rule shouldn’t take it away. I’ve sent a formal letter urging the NCAA to let the Bears play during the FBS transition. This is about fairness and doing right by our players. 🐻🏈 #LetThemPlay
