“Is there an end to the universe?” This is the question that sparked this student’s personalized learning project! Today we learned all about the solar system from her! Way to go J 🌎🪐☀️

Global School Play day is the best!! Students working together, learning together, creating together, and PLAYING together!

Utilizing our new vertical non permanent workspaces to learn about lines and curves in math! Students worked with a partner to draw images containing lines and curves. When one partner dictates and the other writes, everyone is engaged!

So proud of these 2nd graders!! They did an amazing job at their musical last night!

These amazing 2nd graders surprised me this morning by wearing my favorite color! 💜 love looking around my class and seeing a sea of purple and bright smiling faces! Making me feel extra special, loved, and appreciated today!

Enjoyed a visit from some arborists from The Village of Arlington Heights today! We loved learning about how these important community helpers serve our community and the importance of protecting our trees!

Trying to beat the heat with fun at indoor recess! Some words that come to mind when I think about these awesome 2nd graders: resilient and flexible!!

The warm weather won’t be here to stay, so we have to soak it up while we can! These 2nd graders enjoyed reading in the courtyard today!

VNPs are up and running in Miss Mahal Loved the math thinking and discussions going on... Students sharing their strategies and how they used tools, used +/- 10's, etc. Look at how many different ways to solve this What's My Question problem!! 🎉

Using the VNPs throughout the entire math lesson...Lots of discovery and questioning, trying out numbers, estimation& problem solving. They did an AMAZING job explaining their thinking on some tricky problems! Thank you Miss Mahal for sharing your math time &this journey with me!
