Thankful for another great semester with Samford Orlean Beeson School of Education! I learned a lot from the amazing faculty and was pushed out of my comfort zone which resulted in so much professional and personal growth. Hard to believe my time at Samford University is almost over...!❤️

A teacher overheard a black student say “if I grow up”. Let that sink in. A child should have zero limits on where their imagination for the future leads them and the society around them should have no barriers to those beautiful dreams becoming reality. Yet, here we are.

I’ve known these ladies since Sophomore year. They have bloomed as educators since then 🌻🌼🌸🌺 I was so honored to say a blessing over them before they went out into their internships today. Late night ZOOM supervisor meeting for the win!

As part of our Civil Rights Movement unit in 11th grade history, students picked an event or work that happened in a city in the state of AL. After researching their topic, students created a Google Slides presentation to share their findings. Check out the example slides below!

Hands on activities and student choice can help increase engagement, so when talking about MLK’s “I Have a Dream” speech students listened to the speech and then created a visual to go with it. Students were able to draw anything they felt represented the speech, check it out!

I've been trying to grow my differentiation strategies. I watched this video from Education Week and know I will use some of these ideas in my classroom! youtu.be/rumHfC1XQtc

Using Google Slides, Cathleen Beachboard created a digital "desk" for each student in her virtual classroom because she "needed a place where we can all be together."

One Crestline class organized a Dinosaur Day to lift the spirits of their classmate, Hudson, who recently lost his dad due to Covid. The students wanted to encourage Hudson (who loves dinosaurs) so they put this together. Amazing!

Always said I’d never date a co-worker but never said I wouldn’t marry one! Anna, I love you and can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together! Praise God for the gift of your love. Proverbs 18:22 📸 Whit McGhee
